This heritage home was steeped in tradition, and it was important to kitchen designer, Adam Kane, to carry through an emphasis on quality and longevity in the space. For him, it meant binding older and newer elements together, but keeping it refined and sophisticated. Integrating the appliances was crucial to completing the story. Sub-Zero refrigerators and Cove dishwashers allowed the clean lines of the designed joinery in the front of the kitchen to continue uninterrupted, giving it its own sculptural moment in the home.

Kane’s overall approach was minimal and monochromatic, with accents of natural stone and polished plaster adding a balance to the other sleek finishes. The result is a kitchen space that is clean and open, yet still preserves the craftsmanship of the original home.
