Ovens & Ranges

25/06/2010

How does an end user choose between Wolf, Gaggenau, Miele, Ilve, Smeg, Siemens?

Is it performance, aesthetics, or both?

Wolf cooking products have their heritage in commercial ranges (cookers) for the restaurant industry.  Manufactured by the same company that produces Sub-Zero integrated and built-in refrigeration in Madison Wisconsin USA, they are built for performance but with aesthetic design in mind.

Wolf ovens are big, 127 litres capacity, enough to fit a large turkey or a whole roast leg of lamb.  But unlike many other ovens in this category, Wolf has developed a twin fan system to ensure the temperature is uniform throughout the cavity.  Not only does a Wolf oven have twin fans, but they rotate in opposite directions and come on sequentially, all monitored by sensors to keep the oven temperature uniform.

Wolf oven doors are designed to glide open on counterbalanced hinges and rest where you place them.  They won’t fall open with a resounding crash.

Pyrolytic cleaning and heavy-duty shelves complete the oven package, together with a high-powered internal lighting system.

Wolf is designed to handle whatever rough treatment is dished out while producing consistent cooking results.

The Dual Fuel range has the option of single or twin large capacity electric ovens combined with an all gas cook-top surface that can be configured to suite individual preferences.  Combinations of 2, 4 or 6 gas burners with either, or both gas grill and griddle plate.

For the advanced chef a French top option has been designed with concentric cast iron plates to give a uniform temperature gradient from the centre to the outside.

Wolf gas burners have a sophisticated dual stacked system with the simmer burner fitted underneath the main burner.  This eliminates any direct contact between the simmer gas flame and the pot, producing an even heat.  Heavy-duty cast iron trivets add to the rugged performance based design.

A range of integrated modules can be combined to suit your individual cooking preference.  2 burner electric, 2 burner gas, in bench steamer, fryer, electric grill and a powerful multifunction gas wok burner with a 24 mega joule heat output.

With a total of 32 high performance cooking products to choose from you can customize a Wolf Cooking package that perfectly suits your needs and passions.  Each product also has a series of matching accessories that can also be customized to your suite your kitchen design.  For example the warming drawer could match a Wolf oven in stainless steel or cabinet work with an integrated drawer front.

Wolf developed a downdraft ventilation system that sits behind one, or a series of integrated modules.  Ideal for island situations when a canopy hood could block a view, or close in an open design.  The downdraft system rises from the bench-top with a powerful integrated fan to take cooking fumes from adjacent pots or pans.
